You can't simply tell people to 'trust' AI - and they will automatically trust it. Image is from 'Loki' series - who is always asking people to 'trust' him - even though he has a reputation of not being trustworthy.
If the public don't like it, then it won't be accepted! The voice of the people!!!
As with any product, a tv, a car, a mobile phone - if you can't trust it - if it isn't safe - what happens?
AI is like any other product - and the public (the users) need to trust it!
In nutty nut shell - User trust and acceptance of AI hinge on the technology's transparency, reliability, and ability to consistently deliver ethical and beneficial outcomes
As with people - trust is not given but earned - users need to understand how AI can be trusted - how its decisions are safe - why it's reliable - they must 'see' the AI delivering accurate and dependable results.
