Why is LaTex so great!?
One of the reasons LaTeX is so popular and liked, is it give you control as to how things should behave at a very micro level. This is especially true when you're creating equations and reference lists! LaTeX is very powerful when it comes to academic articles. But it isn't all strawberries and cakes, it does have a few disadvantages. For example, it does have a bit of a learning curve, don't let anyone tell you otherwise - of course, once you learn the basic syntax, it is very easy and quick to use.
